Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) Lake Clear, NY

Adirondack Regional Airport is served by Cape Air (800-352-0714). There are three daily round trip flights from Boston.

The drive from the Adirondack Regional Airport to the Trudeau Institute is approximately 15 minutes.

Depart the airport driving South on the Airport Road. Turn left onto NY-186 and continue until it intersects with NY-86, turn right. Continue on NY-86 to the Village of Saranac Lake. Proceed through the Village until NY-86 intersects with NY-3. Turn right.

One mile beyond the walking bridge, a sign indicates Trudeau Institute, turn right and follow Algonquin Avenue to the Institute.

Burlington International Airport (BTV) Burlington, VT

Burlington International Airport is served by United (800-241-6522) Business Express, The Delta Connection (800-345-3400), Continental (800-525-0280), US Air (800-428-4322), and Northwest (800-225-2525). 

The drive from Burlington to Saranac Lake is approximately 2 hours.

From the airport travel north on I-89 to exit 17. Turn left onto US 2 and follow the signs to the Grand Isle Ferry. This is a cash only ferry. After exiting the ferry, proceed 4 miles to I-87, heading south to exit 38 west. Travel west on 374 for 8 miles, exit right onto NYS-3 and follow NYS-3 for 40 miles to Saranac Lake. Follow signs to NYS-3 - Tupper Lake.

One mile beyond the walking bridge, a sign indicates Trudeau Institute, turn right and follow Algonquin Avenue to the Institute.

Albany International Airport (ALB) Albany, NY

Albany International Airport is served by US Air/US Air Express (800-428-4322), United (800-241-6522), Northwest (800-255-2525), Delta (800-221-1212), Continental Express (800-525-0280 and American/American Eagle Airlines (800-433-7300).

The drive from Albany to Saranac Lake is approximately 2 hours.

Travel north on the Northway (I-87). Leave I-87 at exit 30 turning left onto NYS-73 to Keene Valley, Keene, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Follow signs to Lake Placid. As you come to the village of Lake Placid (passing by the Olympic ski-jump complex), the road forks. Bear left at the fork, which will by-pass the village of Lake Placid. This road meets NYS-86. Turn left onto NYS-86.

Entering Saranac Lake, remain on NYS-86 through the second set of stoplights. Continue straight at this intersection. Signs at this point indicate NYS-3 - Tupper Lake.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) Montreal, QC, Canada

The drive from Montreal to Saranac Lake is approximately 2 hours.

Travel via highway 20 East to the Mercier Bridge over the Saint Lawrence River. After crossing the bridge, follow Route 132 East to Highway 15 South, which becomes I-87 at the United States/Canadian border.  Take exit 38 west on NYS-374 for 8 miles.  Exit right onto NYS-3 and follow NYS-3 for 40 miles to Saranac Lake.  Follow signs to NYS-3 - Tupper Lake.

Driving from New York City Area Airports

Travel to I-87 North (New York State Thruway). Take exit 24 - marked Adirondacks/Montreal. This is the continuation of I-98 and becomes the Northway. Follow I-87 north past Saratoga, Glens Falls and Schroon Lake exiting I-87 at exit 30.

At the end of the off-ramp turn left onto NYS-9 west and follow that for one mile to the intersection of NYS-73. Follow signs to Lake Placid. As you come to the village of Lake Placid (passing by the Olympic ski-jump complex), the road forks. Bear left at the fork, which will by-pass the village of Lake Placid. This road meets NYS-86. Turn left onto NYS-86.
