The role of Tc17 effector and memory cells in influenza infection and tumor rejection.

We have recently discovered that IL-17 secreting CD8 T cells are generated in the response to influenza (Hamada et al. 2009) and that in vitro generated Tc17 effectors can protect against lethal influenza infection and can also lead to the rejection of B16OVA melanoma tumors.

We are engaged in a study of the mechanisms involved in these two experimental models.
